Sounds funny, right? Yet, it reflects quite well how standardized software is increasingly being offered and deployed nowadays. After all, the App Store and the Play Store have already been in use for consumers for quite a while now.
Unsurprisingly, AWS has had its own B-2-B marketplace for years already as it is amazon.com that pioneered with selling tangible products online back in the ‘old days’. We are pleased to have our very own listing in the AWS Marketplace, but how does it benefit our customers?
Best-of-breed cloud-ready products
It is actually all about convenience and cost savings. Basically, AWS Marketplace is an online store that helps AWS users (of, for instance, EC2 or RDS) find, buy, and immediately start using the software and services they need to build products and run their businesses. The total offering of best-of-breed cloud-ready products includes software categories such as databases, application servers, testing tools, monitoring tools, content management, and business intelligence.
When visiting, you can use AWS Marketplace’s 1-Click deployment to launch pre-configured software on the fly and pay only for what you use, by the hour or month. Using AWS Marketplace also makes it easier to compare product options and read software reviews.
Software prices and estimated infrastructure prices are displayed on the AWS Marketplace website. You can purchase most software immediately, using payment instruments already on file with AWS. Software charges, including metered billing and BYOL, all appear on the same monthly bill as AWS infrastructure charges.
AWS Marketplace also features ongoing catalog additions and version updates as well as 24/7 scanning. It’s also good to know that most of the vendors, including aewacs, have a free account that can be upgraded along the way if necessary or desired.
With over 100,000 active users and 3,600+ listings, you won’t be the first to discover a new way of software procurement that brings down TCO and speeds up innovation. Nor the last for that matter.
If you would like to know where you can find us on the AWS Marketplace, or if you have any questions regarding the scheduling of your AWS resources, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’re happy to help.
